ABOUT BUGA BUGA COLLECTIVE
Buga Buga is a mix of creative professionals who put out interdisciplinary performances and projects.
During COVID times (2021) a bunch of us incidentally got together in the hideout of the mountains (Himachal) and made a performance. A day or two before the performance we named ourselves Buga Buga Theatre Productions (now Buga Buga Collective).
Most of us were away from our blood-related family, trying to make sense of things life was offering. SEARCHING was the overarching theme in our first production, FAQs, during the making of which we made familial ties with each other. That bond became the foundation and Buga Buga was built on care, support, and shared responsibilities.
The experience and response were such that they inspired some of us to continue with the name Buga Buga and make more work under its identity.
Since then we have put out theatrical productions, short films, and curations and have organized workshops and events in different cities, in and outside of India. We pride ourselves on the work we have put out.
We are a result of the shared interest and ambition of that bunch of people who met in the mountains to overcome, knowingly or unknowingly, trials and tribulations of those times. From there on, our team has expanded, retracted, and sometimes been nullified too as and when the malleability of life allowed.
Nevertheless, we are here and we are ready to spread out and share the stories we are part of.
